Vaidyakalanidhi V I Varghese Vaidyan's Kayalvarath Ayurvedic Hospital has completed over a hundred years of meritorious service in the field of Ayurvedic treatment and medicine in Kerala. Vaidyakalanidhi Kayalvarath V I Varghese Vaidyan, the founder of the hospital, inherited the medicine and methods of treatment from his father Kayalvarath Kochidichandi Assan, Upholding the tradition, his son Dr. George Varghese, now Chief physician of Kayalvarath hospital renders great service to the society through this hospital.
Quite proudly we can say that Kayalvarath hospital has grown up into a full fledged hospital equipped with all the necessary modern facilities to provide authentic Ayurveda treatment and accommodation to patients.
The treatment offered in this hospital has many unique features. Here we have adopted a secular treatment policy. Even though priority is given to the age old Ayurveda, the hospital also specializes in Modern Medicine, Homeopathy and Acupuncture. Treatment is decided by joint discussions and evaluation by doctors, which has proved to be very effective in many complicated cases. The most striking feature is that all these three departments are manned by doctors from the same family.
Some of the main areas of treatment that we provide are Asthma and Allergic Problems, Psoriasis, Spine related disorders, Diabetes, Hypertension, Obesity, Back Pain, Joint Pain, Rheumatic Disorders, Ailments due to Arthritis, Developmental Disorders in children, De-toxification package and treatment for Mental Disorders, Stress and Special package for IT Professionals etc. which have found extra ordinary results.
We have in- house production of ayurvedic medicines exclusively for our own use. Chief Physician, Dr. George Varghese, directly ensures quality control norms at each stage of the preparation of the medicines. If required, according to the patient’s disease we are able to manufacture special medicines here We may not be as big as some, but then, that's what make us better !!
Kayalvarath hospital has extended its wings to Three branches , one at Hospital Jn: Kundara, Ramankulangara Jn (West Kollam) and the other at Lalaji Jn. karunagappally. Tasty wholesome vegetarian food is supplied according to needs of patients. The vegetarian keralian cuisine not only nourishes the body but also brings the right result out of the treatment.
As the hospital is housed at close quarters to the Ashtamudi lake, the serene atmosphere soothes the sickened mind and body and is a catalyst for effective treatment. Panayam our home village is away from the maddening crowd with unpolluted healthy air.
The place is easily accessible by rail (very near to Perinad railway station) and by bus, 10 kilometers from Kollam railway station (QLN) in the Anchalummood, Kundara bus route.
The conclusion is it is not a hospital - It is a home away from home.
